Part one of this years travel sees us with a 4 day San Francisco stopover before heading north to the Canadian Rockies for 2 weeks.
I lived here for a while in heady days of Haight Ashbury and the infamous Manson murders. Charles M only lived a few miles away from us ... but I'm detracting.
This is the second time I have been back here but its been long time between drinks..and each time its almost like a new city, certainly full of new experiences. Both visits have been well outside of the traditional 'tourist' times and on both occasions have been extremely lucky with the weather. Today is 4th February - heart of winter...you really wouldn't know it though as the temperature as been in the high teens (·C) and when I looked in the mirror this afternoon , realised I had caught the sun - winter tan in San Fran !! The mornings have generally started quite cool with early cloud that burns off around lunchtime, producing clear warm afternoons - perfect for exploring Fishermans Wharf
